And just when you think the year can't get worse, this happens:

My favourite musician, M. John Frusciante is leaving the Red Hot Chili Pepper's (again).

Good luck ..., whatever you will do. But please don't disappear on us again for 7 years, this is not the end, i hope...the past recedes and I won't be involved, I'm out of reach, i can't play it safe, but I might just in case be disguised as a reaching hand...

Last time he uit in the middle of  a Japan tour in 1992. After that he literally disappeared from the face of the earth. He couldn't cope with the huge success of the band who laied in small bars in 1988 and filled giant stadiums worldwide 2 years later a success to which John's riffs to Under the bridge had largely contributed. But he was only 19 at that time and only wanted to stay in the band for his friendship with Flea. Even Flea told hm that wasn't enough.

After that John spent the next years holed up in his Hollywood Hills house and drugged himself day and night. He was a mess but still recorded a lot. Of course nothing was officially released. There is one scary interviwe of a dutch team where you see him like a ghost, totally stoned and talking so slowly, in the end he shoots himself up, lies on the floor, smokes a cig, and listens to music completey out of it. It hurt me to see this. Some good friends of him, like Jonny Depp produced the short movie STUFF showing John's house, like a trashcan, walls stained with his own blood, bottles and cigarettes every where. This house completly burnt down days later, thank god John wasn't inside. We had to wait until 1997 until he went to rehab and quit heroin cold turkey. Shortly after that te RHCP had lost their replacement guitarist Dave Navarro. They where also at term and figured that the only way to get the band back on track was to bring John back. And they where right. John accepted sobbing into the phone, nothing would make him more proud.

And i don't tell need to tell you about the masterpieces releases this past decade...

Then mysteriously after a grammy win for Stadium Arcadium, they decided to go on an undefined hyatus.

But this October they went back to recording. So i figure something must have come up in the meantime, artistic differences, whatever....

I don't care so much about the band but about John, when i watch them i just drool over him. So i hope he will continue making good music so that we can see him one day play again, and not too far away. I feel like he is one of my soulmates, witht the same dark daemons that try to lure you back again and again, i adire his genius and his ability to overcome addiction and become a fit talented performer. But i am dying to know what happened this time, and i am worried an sad. Definetely one f the worst news of the year....

GOOD LUCK BOY!!
