Novmber 11 is:
  •  November 11 is the 315th day of the year (316th in leap years) in the Gregorian calendar. There are 50 days remaining until the end of the year. YES!!
  • World War I is commemorated on this day, commonly known as Remembrance Day. The ceasefire went into effect at 11:00am CET in 1918, the date of which (and sometimes the commemoration of) is known as Armistice Day.
  • Veterans Day is an annual American holiday honoring military veterans. A federal holiday.
    It is also celebrated as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other parts of the world, falling on November 11, the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. (Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice.)

  • Novmber 11 also traditionnally marks the so-called 5th season in Germany - the carnaval season (it's been one day now and i have already enough of having these idiotic carnival songs popping ot of my radio all day long...) wayto go until end of february...
