Clarification - John Frusciante's MySpace Blog |
When I quit the band, over a year ago, we were on an indefinite hiatus. There was no drama or anger involved, and the other guys were very understanding. They are supportive of my doing whatever makes me happy and that goes both ways.
To put it simply, my musical interests have led me in a different direction. Upon rejoining, and throughout my time in the band, I was very excited about exploring the musical possibilities inherent in a rock band, and doing so with those people in particular. A couple of years ago, I began to feel that same excitement again, but this time it was about making a different kind of music, alone, and being my own engineer.
I really love the band and what we did. I understand and value that my work with them means a lot to many people, but I have to follow my interests. For me, art has never been something done out of a sense of duty. It is something I do because it is really fun, exciting, and interesting. Over the last 12 years, I have changed, as a person and artist, to such a degree that to do further work along the lines I did with the band would be to go against my own nature. There was no choice involved in this decision. I simply have to be what I am, and have to do what I must do.
Sending love and gratitude to you all.

And just when you think the year can't get worse, this happens:
My favourite musician, M. John Frusciante is leaving the Red Hot Chili Pepper's (again).
Good luck ..., whatever you will do. But please don't disappear on us again for 7 years, this is not the end, i hope...the past recedes and I won't be involved, I'm out of reach, i can't play it safe, but I might just in case be disguised as a reaching hand...
Last time he uit in the middle of a Japan tour in 1992. After that he literally disappeared from the face of the earth. He couldn't cope with the huge success of the band who laied in small bars in 1988 and filled giant stadiums worldwide 2 years later a success to which John's riffs to Under the bridge had largely contributed. But he was only 19 at that time and only wanted to stay in the band for his friendship with Flea. Even Flea told hm that wasn't enough.
After that John spent the next years holed up in his Hollywood Hills house and drugged himself day and night. He was a mess but still recorded a lot. Of course nothing was officially released. There is one scary interviwe of a dutch team where you see him like a ghost, totally stoned and talking so slowly, in the end he shoots himself up, lies on the floor, smokes a cig, and listens to music completey out of it. It hurt me to see this. Some good friends of him, like Jonny Depp produced the short movie STUFF showing John's house, like a trashcan, walls stained with his own blood, bottles and cigarettes every where. This house completly burnt down days later, thank god John wasn't inside. We had to wait until 1997 until he went to rehab and quit heroin cold turkey. Shortly after that te RHCP had lost their replacement guitarist Dave Navarro. They where also at term and figured that the only way to get the band back on track was to bring John back. And they where right. John accepted sobbing into the phone, nothing would make him more proud.
And i don't tell need to tell you about the masterpieces releases this past decade...
Then mysteriously after a grammy win for Stadium Arcadium, they decided to go on an undefined hyatus.
But this October they went back to recording. So i figure something must have come up in the meantime, artistic differences, whatever....
I don't care so much about the band but about John, when i watch them i just drool over him. So i hope he will continue making good music so that we can see him one day play again, and not too far away. I feel like he is one of my soulmates, witht the same dark daemons that try to lure you back again and again, i adire his genius and his ability to overcome addiction and become a fit talented performer. But i am dying to know what happened this time, and i am worried an sad. Definetely one f the worst news of the year....

A dreamjob
I am again so sick with work i seriosly have to come up with something else. I think these photos of animals are so cute and there is no such business here in the surroundings.... i should study photography a bit better and use Tessa as a model to train... Take a look at this blog of Sharon Montrose photographs . It is adorable!!
In other news, i was a bad girl again today. At work, everything was deserted as usual. We had this meeting i was supposed to attend to at 5 pm, but i dreaded to go, again. So i cam up with an excuse that i had to go to another meeting before and the times would overlapse and i would be unable to attend the meeting at 5... Instead i badged out at 14h45 and went straight home. i felt so sick, it was an awful day. Cold, raining cats and dogs and i felt like throwing up the whole time. So i figured,... whatever i just go, if someone finds out i make up a different excuse.... Now if have practically the same thing on firday, i guess i can't escape that one :(( I SERIOUSLY need to quit, tis is driving me insane!!
I wish i could spend my days taking pics of cute animals instead of having to do with evil all day long.

Romy
I am really excited because the Germans have produced a movie about my idol Romy Schneider, one of the most beautiful and talented actresses there have ever been. Everyone tends to associate her with her roles as Sissy the emperess of Austria/hungary, but afer this she made so many good movies, mostly in french.
Here is a link to the website about the movie.
And i absolutely love the pictures below:
The first one was taken on the set of "La Piscine" one of my favourite movies that reunited her with Alain Delon.

And a trailer in german:

The first one was taken on the set of "La Piscine" one of my favourite movies that reunited her with Alain Delon.
The second is a candid picture. The story says that Romy was having a drink at this empty place in Quiberon Brittany (in 1984 shortly before she died). There was an old man who approached her to ask if it was her the famous actress. And she was happy that day and simply started to dance with the old man.
Here are some mor facts of this beautifl person:
Schneider was born Rosemarie Magdalena Albach in Nazi-era Vienna into a family of actors that included her paternal grandmother Rosa Albach-Retty, her Austrian-born German father Wolf Albach-Retty and her German mother Magda Schneider. After her parents' divorce in 1945, Magda took charge of Romy and her brother Wolfi, eventually supervising the young girl's career, often appearing alongside her daughter. Schneider made her film debut at the age of 15.
Under Visconti's direction, she gave performances in the Théâtre Moderne as Annabella (and Delon as Giovanni) in John Ford's stage play 'Tis Pity She's a Whore (1961) and in the film Boccaccio '70 (segment: "The Job"). In 1962 Schneider played Anna in Sacha Pitoëff's production of Chekhov's play The Seagull, also at the Théâtre Moderne. A brief stint in Hollywood included appearances in Good Neighbor Sam, a 1964 comedy with Jack Lemmon, and 1965 What's New Pussycat? co-starring Peter O'Toole, Peter Sellers and Woody Allen who also wrote the screenplay.
Schneider and Delon decided to split up in 1963 although they remained close lifelong friends and continued to work together in such films as La Piscine (The Swimming Pool) (1968) and The Assassination of Trotsky (1972).
Romy Schneider continued to work in France during the 1970s, appearing in films as Les choses de la vie (1970), Max et les ferrailleurs (1971), César et Rosalie (1972), and Le vieux fusil (1975). The harsh L'important c'est d'aimer (1974) garnered her first César Award (France's equivalent of the Oscar).
On 30 October 1974, Romy Schneider created one of the most memorable moments on German television. She was the second guest on Dietmar Schönherr's talk show Je später der Abend (The later the evening) when she, after a rather terse interview, remarked passionately to the last guest, bank robber and author Burkhard Driest: "Sie gefallen mir. Sie gefallen mir sehr." (I like you. I like you a lot.)
In July 1966 Schneider married Harry Meyen (1924–1979), a German director and actor who committed suicide in Hamburg, Germany in 1979. The couple had a son, David Christopher, born on December 3, 1966. David died at the age of 14 on 5 July 1981. He had attempted to climb the spiked fence at his stepfather's parents' home when he punctured his femoral artery.
In 1975, Schneider married Daniel Biasini, her private secretary; they separated in 1981. Their daughter Sarah Biasini (born 14 July 1977) is now an actress.
It was during the filming of Christine that Schneider fell in love with French actor Alain Delon, who co-starred in the movie. She left Germany to join him in Paris and they announced their engagement in 1959.
Schneider decided to live and to work in France, slowly gaining the interest of film directors such as Orson Welles for The Trial (1962), based upon Franz Kafka's The Trial and was introduced by Delon to Luchino Visconti.Under Visconti's direction, she gave performances in the Théâtre Moderne as Annabella (and Delon as Giovanni) in John Ford's stage play 'Tis Pity She's a Whore (1961) and in the film Boccaccio '70 (segment: "The Job"). Schneider began drinking alcohol in excess after the tragic death of her son David. When she was found dead in her apartment in Paris on 29 May 1982, it was suggested that she had committed suicide by taking a lethal cocktail of alcohol and sleeping pills. After another post-mortem examination was carried out, authorities declared that she had died from cardiac arrest. Her tombstone at Boissy-sans-Avoir in the Canton of Montfort-l'Amaury bears the name Rosemarie Albach. Shortly afterwards, Alain Delon arranged for David to be buried in the same grave.
The French journalist Eugène Moineau initiated in 1984 the Prix Romy Schneider; this prize—the most prestigious award for promising actresses in the French film industry—is awarded by a jury each year in Paris in conjunction with the Prix Patrick Dewaere (formerly the Prix Jean Gabin). In 1990, the Austrian newspaper Kurier created the Romy TV Award in honour of Romy Schneider. In 2003, she was voted 78th on the list of the greatest Germans in the German TV programme Unsere Besten (the German version of 100 Greatest Britons)—the second highest ranked actress (Marlene Dietrich was 50th) on that list.
A movie about Romy Schneider's life, titled Eine Frau wie Romy/Une femme comme Romy (A Woman Like Romy) is planned by Warner Bros. for 2009; Schneider's role is going to be played by Yvonne Catterfeld. In March 2008, a $7 million TV production depicting her life under the title Romy was announced; Jessica Schwarz will play the title role. IT WILL AIR ON NOVEMBER 11TH!!
A musical about Schneider, Romy – Die Welt aus Gold (Romy — The Golden World) was premiered in 2009 at the Theater Heilbronn.

Sourya
A band i have just discovered. On thier my Spcace page you can read that the band membres come from all over the world:
LoNdOn/FrAnCe/UsA
My favourite song is : For girls (boys warning)
I also link "Numéro1", but i think i will buy he whole album if there is one'?
Comptoir des Cotonniers
This is one of my favourite clothing labels. Their cuts are creative and the colours usually soft and subtle. Yesterday i renewed my whole winter wardrobe at their store. They are just the best saleswomen ever. As soon as your in the dressing room trying on something, they will hand you another piece to try on "this would look so lovely on you.." And then before you know it you walk out with 1o items in your bag. The best would be not to even enter their store - no temptations!!
Now they created a blog with fashion tips, really nice!
There is also an e-shop on their min website .
What i like about their catalogue pictures or ads is that they always choose a mother and her daughter to pose together. It looks so cool to see that you can still wear fun things after 40 ...

i'm in love with this guy....
Who's that you might think? well check him out in action here :
Number 18 on Rolling Stone's all time best guitarists list and one of the only ones that are actually still alive. so, who cares about the rest of the song??
It's not that i don't like the song but the intro is so genius, it's all i need...
I actually was lucky to see the RHCP on this very tour in March 2003 in the Sportpaleis in Atnverp (Belgium). It was my 2nd favourite concert of all times after the Depeche Mode Violator tour...
The vebue is some sort of old sportsi indoors stadium with wooden floors on the steps. So you can imagine when about 30.000 people are banging with their feet on this floor with excitement, i still get goose bumps when i think about it. Please, please make a come back, a new album and a new tour with a european leg!! or whatever, i would even fly to the US if i had too.... I am just a harcore fan of John.
I am still not over the fact that i missed the much anticipated Pearl jam concert in Toronto on August 21, but that's life, but i am going to get you to one day, i HAVE too.
Those were the sounds of my teenage years, the whole grunge phase, sonic youth, alince in chains, soundgarden, rage against the machine, ....
